The 89 CRX Si I have will be going up for sale sometime here in the near future after I finish some of the interior upgrades and other general replacements to sell it, like a carpet which was just too worn out, and a dash which had four cracks in it from the previous owner.

The car currently has a SOHC-VTEC D16Z6 engine running it without the axles installed as I have to figure out what I'm doing before I go further.

The reason I am selling this is because I like having the fast car, but I no longer want to be sinking money into it. And my wife needs a car as her CRX is getting really old really quick. Her CRX will be a test base for the D16Z6 upgrade on a DX....and the car is rusting up bad anyways...so it's not a bad idea.

What's the deal with the CRX.

Here's what I would like to do....find a buyer for the completion of this CRX. Here's what it has in the below, and what is going to be included:

    89 CRX Si
B18C Engine from Japan with B18C Transaxle
HKS Super Mega Powerflow Intake...the large version available on for SiR CRX in Japan
Tanabe 2.5" Exhuast with stainless muffler, alluminized B-pipe.
FGK 18ga Stainless 4-2-1 Header with a "2.5-inch" outlet...like type-R original 96-97 header...the thickness of the metal is exceptionally nice.
    2.5" Straight Pipe.
Tein Coilovers and Hard Springs for a B-series swap...Illumina Struts, non adjustable and showing their age a bit.
Integra Rear Disc Swap with new trailing Link Bushing and new E-brake Cables from Honda for a CRX Si.
New Brake Fluid, off the shelf DOT4 for now.
Integra Master Cylinder...a lot larger and offers a lot more stopping power.
Stock pads and Rotors...but you definately wouldn't think so after driving.
20mm Front Sway bar, 14mm Rear Sway bar...both are upgrades to CRX Si 17mm and 13mm respectively
Strut-Tower bars...front has a Spoon Strut Bar - aluminum only made for the japanese 90-93 integra (fits on this car because of the SiR Hood)...has rear spats alluminum bar.
7-pt Roll Cage - extremely hard and a bit heavy, made of Chromoly and has black and blue foam padding already on it. Has not yet been installed, but is waiting to be.
SiR Front Hood, Headlights, and Corner Lenses....has a Mugen Body Kit - complete. Rear JDM CRX-VTEC lenses. Will come with JDM CRX Power Mirrors also...but for will be sold with standard CRX mirrors.
Has battery Remote Kit from Moroso and 4ga Wiring, Circuit Breakers, and will have an Optima Battery when Sold. This is an NIRA requirement for 11.1 seconds or faster...which this CRX will be capable of with a turbo kit. (would need a scattershield over flywheel though too if this fast).
15" PIAA Nakajima Wheels with brand new hardly used Yokohama Japanese M7R 195-50 rubber. These can't be found in the US. Chrome rims - 5 bar.
Will be installed with my prided RX-7 Seats from a 3rd Generation RX-7 98 model. These are awesome seats!! I still need to make the seat adapter however to fit them. The seat adaptor will have supplements for hooking on the TOM's Racing Green 4-point Seats Harnesses - both sides.
Has a C's Bille Shortshifter right now, however may use the CRX-SiR Stock Shortshifter or the GSR stock Short Shifter as these have a better feel and are more comfortable...your choice.
Has a not yet installed GSR center section with leather armrest. Would have to see pictures. Looks really sweet. Basically what Eric and Ami have on this site in their Civics...but leather top.
Like I said will have a new carpet...and this will be true black.
Comes with my CRX SiR Axles...these are true length and do not need to be altered to install..they plug right in. No need for hybrid axles.
Also comes with CRX SiR hoses for radiator...these are also true fit.
New sunroof panel...however it got a decent ding in it and needs bodywork now...but it's brand new and meant to replace the one currently as it has some rust on it...speaking of - the car came from North Carolina in 2000 and has been off the road since August 2000...no salt on this car at all - never has been driven in it. This was my winter project last year, and I've been kicking around buying parts for it ever since. There is no rust on this car at all. I can even show pictures as currently have the bumpers off.
Oh, there is a fields SFC-VTEC controller already isntalled where the clock used to be - looks pretty trick. Can control both VTEC and Fuel settings from this and has an adapter harness on the ECU - so it's completely plug and play removeable in the event you want to remove it someday.
Has pedal covers from Razo - they are Carbo Fiber.
Has a JDM Drift Knob on the E-brake...not anything much, but worth mentioning.
Has a black shift knob...I like the feel to it, but it's probably the first thing you would want to change because it looks plain.

CRX is currently lowered 2.5 inches all the way around.

Oh, there are Fusing Boxes installed where the AC would be installed (but this car never had it from the factory)...there are 4 empty slots for both ignition and battery...each has a separate standard fuse and is powr ready for whatever you want to install.

I'll be throwing in Amps in you want them. Kenwood 626 for a small sub and a 846 for 4 corner speakers. I'll also include the 3 RCA Cables that are not the shitty standard ones, but nice ones, and the power wire...which you can tap of the rear mounted battery in the back. This way you can routed the stuff the way you want when you install the stereo because as you've guessed the stereo was the first thing removed...this car was to the tune of the engine!...haha...actually I planned to install a complete stereo and alarm system after the engine install. This car was locked at all times behind a locked storage sched door for the last 10 months and was to remain a weekend car put away every night the same way.

SiR Shift Linkage...this is plug and play too..so no need to get a linkage for the B18C...this fits it.

Hell I can't remember anything else included.

SHIT...duh, the biggest thing to mention, it comes with an SiR LSD from a CRX Y1 tranny. This fits right into the B18C tranny.

The engine will ned the following setup. And do not try and install it any other way because it's a complete pain in the ass and waste of your time.

Zdyne Reprogrammed ECU (will provide an Si ECU for you to have reprogrammed)...$300 bucks.
RPM COntroller...use the SFC-VTEC COntroller or by a $40 summit rpm controller and this will control the AIB on the GSR intake..required or your top end will suck!
Place Racing Mount Kit exclusively for B18C. This mount kit was designed for this car with the B18C install! I talked to Gil, the owner, and I've talked to Brian....undoubtedly if you want to install this engine, your should have this kit. The reason is because the Hasport Kit you need to grind the passenger framerail to fit the tranny. Hasport also positions the engine better and the axle angle is correct where the hasport angle is not...something not a lot of people recognize.
You will need to buy a Hydro to Cabel Clutch Converter...Place Racing now makes ones for this. They are about $220. Use the Stock Si clutch cable with this car and this converter to actuate the GSR tranny.
...Note: If you are thinking of using a B16A Cable Tranny on this engine your an idiot and I will not sell this car to you if you even mention it! The B16A trannies are weak and not geared for this engine. Secondly the synchros on the B16A trannies suck! This tranny has double-cone synchros and is a very tough tranny - they hardly ever get the to grind (unless your a shitty ass driver who crashes gears for fun and should be shot for being an asshole). Thirdly the final in this tranny can be upgraded to the Type-R 4.400 final. This is awesome! Fourthy...this tranny allows you to run the GSR-sized wheels. Bascially the wheels provided with this car are too small...but the GSR sized wheels are about 1.5 to 2 inches larger in diameter. What this means...this gets complicated...your car stands 1 inch higher, your fender moves 1 inch closer, so you don't have to run the 2.5 inch drop - just the 1.5 inches (which is so much better on camber and handling)...and you can also run bigger rim sizes. Fifthly the GSR gearing is high enough and the litre size of the engine is high enough that you can rotate 45 pound 17 inch rims if you want to be a show jerkoff instead of lightweight 16 inch rims as desired.

You will need a $300 Place Racing engine harness for converting the JDM GSR wiring I have for this engine into the Si wiring harness I have on the side.

I have a new CRX Si O2 Sensor...it will be added to the GSR header for the Zdyne ECU.

That's all you'll need to install this engine.

On the Paint. This was an issue I have been debating for a long time. I wanted to paint it 94-97 Mustang Yellow, which is the same as F-150 lightening yellow...which looks a lot like S2000 indy yellow pearl. The standard Si yellow kinda sucks I feel. Looks "good" but not awesome. Doesn't turn heads.
I nickname the CRX shark in the meantime as the front-end panels are grey and the bumpers are also. I did this because I they were black and it looked like crap. Plus I could see any minor spots to fill in any defects in the kit. This kit was used, I bought it second hand in Okinawa (where I brang everything back from). So their is some minor issues on it some scrapes and stuff I have been glassing in and grinding out. Still needs some work, but I'll finish it before it's ready to sell.
One thing I would like to add. The engine bay when I had gotten it had a lot of scrapes on it and the guy before me wired up stuff and just got mean on the paint?? But it needs to be painted as well.
So basically full pain, even on inside of door wells, under hood, and at truck hatch.
It's also your choice...this is something kinda cool, because the price of the car is knocked down for the new owner to buy paint.

Now on the Price. I am still trying to decide...but I think $6000 is way in order for this. I'll break it down this way, I sat down for pizza last night and scratched out some figures and added everything up to being $10,500 for a fair price on it. That's a deal if you ask me. Hell the engine and tranny alone go for $2500 since it's the higher JDM compression 10.6:1 engine. The US GSR is 10.0:1. Therefore the power output of this engine I think is 10 to 15 horse higher then the US version..seriously it's more torquier too.

I'd also recommend a Zdyne Gold ECU, but to start the B18C Conversion ECU form Zdyne will work great.

Serious buyer inquiries please. I will not be answering how to swap a B18C into a Civic or CRX questions as this pisses me off. It wastes time for the serious buyers and if you ask these questions I will not take you seriously...hence don't ask them. It's far to easy anyways - call Place Racing if you want the details.

For those that are serious, I will be selling the CRX off next spring to summer. So this gives anyone interested a good 6 months to look into buying this.

I favor those who aren't full of shit by the way and will work with you guys as this was and still is my passion...I love this car. It's always been faster than anything else...even when it was an Si.

Just ask for Jon when you email.

I'll have pictures on the engine, parts, and stuff in a bit.

Also meant to say it comes with a B16A distributor for the engine to be ran with the Zdyne Conversion.
